Greetings from Kansas

New to the site, but loving the information that is available and the number of members posting.
Background: I retired 12 years ago an my wife 2 years ago. We are lake people and love to spend time around, on, or in the water with family and friends........But
We love to travel around to globe, but are now looking at the good ole USA and sites we haven't seen here. So we've decided to buy a motorhome and travel the States. Our plan is to travel two to three weeks in the spring, two to three weeks in the fall and possibly two to four weeks in the winter.
Problem is, we, being noobs, are debating the size of motorhome we need.
We are thinking that based on two to three week trips, that we will be mostly spending one night at a site, possibly two nights depending on the venue. I'm thinking a diesel puller, like a Via or Reyo at 25 feet would be prefect, because we really wouldn't need a toad. However, we are also looking at dp at 35 feet and smaller. This would probably mean we should also have a toad.
I would appreciate everyone's thoughts because this is in fact a new adventure for us
Thx
Larry

Nice to have you here with us.

While there are a lot of RVers who don’t use a toad. I feel once I get to a place and set up, i don’t want to “break camp” every time I want to go somewhere. Even with a smaller Arab finding a place to park, especially in cities, and be a chore. That my two cents.

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can. Toads are pretty easy and most useful. We have been pulling a toad for 4 years and would have it no other way.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
