Greetings from Maine!

Hi all,

My wife and I are recently retired, on the bad side of 65, and considering checking out the RV lifestyle-- that makes us complete outliers in this forum, right?

In fact, we've booked our first rental in mid-October on Outdoorsy-- a 25' Winnebago Fuse that we're planning to drive over to Vermont for 4 or 5 days. If we're still married after that, my vision is to buy a used Sprinter or Transit Clas B MH and spend a chunk of winter exploring the Southwest.

So at this point, I'm trying to do a bit of due diligence and research so I know what I'm getting into. I promise to ask a large number of stupid questions... so brace yourselves!

Sounds like a good plan and there is a very high level of tolerance for otherwise stupid questions as most of us have done stupid things (and the rest just didn’t recognize it) and been stumped by simple issues from time to time . So go forth and conquer and ask away.

Cheers

Fellow Maniac here! First 38 years near Augusta, working the last ten years at the nuclear power plant an hour up US Route 1 from you until it closed down in 2000, and have spent the last 20 years in southwest Michigan at another nuclear power plant. Retirement in five years (age 63), I hope.

29 foot motor home on wife's insistence. You sound like you won't have as much issue for winter storage if you are doing southerly winter exploring!
