Greetings from Tennessee!!
I've been a lurker of the forums and just "officially" signed up.
I am interested in becoming full-time and am researching the lifestyle to see if it will work for me.
I recently retired from the military and am currently flying for a major airline. I am not interested in living in any of my airline's hubs, but I don't know that I want to commute to work for the rest of my career. I was thinking, that just maybe, living in a house that changes scenery just might do the trick.
I am single, middle 40's, etc. I am looking toward a Prevost coach towing a full size pickup. I'd probably spend 6 months in the FL, GA, TN, SC, NC area and the other 6 months in the NY, CT, NJ area. The only requirement being a quick airline flight to Atlanta, JFK, LAX, or SEA.
Primarily concerned with coach security while I am away for 10-12 days a month. Expenses associated with owning/maintaining a coach? Can a coach be self-sufficient (keep from freezing) if I happen to be away when it turns cold?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Congrats on your retirement from the military. Come on down and check out the middle GA area around Robins AFB. Macon airport is also close for flights to ATL.
As for winterizing a coach all I've done to ours is drain the tanks and set the rear thermostat to 50 degrees so it will keep the wet bay from freezing when the temperature does get down to freezing.

We have a Prevost and spend approx. 6 months in NH and 6 in Florida. We have towed a full size pickup and currently tow an Avalanche. The combo is great. Ours has heated bays so cold weather is not a problem, as long as we have hookups. Just disconnect the water line to the coach.
The costs can be all over the place. If you are handy it would help keep costs down.
We leave the coach for extended periods all the time. Just pick a campground that is safe.

Congratulations! I hope it all works out for you. The highest end coaches (Prevost, Newell...) have heated wet bay as Road_Pilot pointed out. I don't think you will have any problems with freezing. My Affinity has a thermostat for the wet bay, too.
I see there are some nice Prevosts advertised on eBay as we speak.
