I've landed here at IRV2 about 30 times in the last few weeks... might as well make it official.
Recently retired, my wife and I decided to purchase a motorhome and become gypsies. We're both mid-sixties, and in good health, so it makes sense to pull the trigger right now while we can. Your health is never guaranteed.
Back in my working days we had a couple of motorhomes, a class C gas and a class A gas. After doing some research we decided this one would have to be a diesel pusher. We landed a 36 foot Monaco Safari Cheetah in need of some TLC. It's a 2005, exterior pretty clean, interior... well, I don't want to talk about it.
What I love about it is the Catepillar 350 powerplant. Going up the hills on the freeway, I've learned that when the boost gauge moves over to the +30 side, things start to happen. Fun stuff.
I've tons to learn about Freightliner chassis, Caterpillar Diesels, and Allison transmissions, and I've gotten a good start right here. Thanks for all you guys have shared, and for being such a nice community! I'll be seeing you all around the forums.
