Hello
We just purchase a 2013 Thor Four Winds model 28Z motor home.
We did quite a bit of researching to make the decision.
In your opinion's, how satisfied do you think we will be with the unit [general use] and what should we expect with the V-10 Ford engine? {I am 70 yrs old so no hot rodding}?
Are there any issues we should address in the two hour class on features and benefits?
Your input will be invaluable.
Thank You
Wes

Howdy and welcome to iRV2! Congrats on the new Thor. We have a Fleetwood on the Ford chassis and we have been very pleased with it.

Welcome, Wes. We have an '02 Georgetown 325 with the V-10 and are pleased with its performance and fuel "economy". Our previous MH was an '85 Class C 26' with a 460. It got 6 mpg at sea-level and about 4.5 at altitude. The V-10 in our current rig gets 7.5 mpg consistently regardless of altitude. You can see from our location that there's quite a lot of altitude to deal with on our trips!
I think the main reason is EFI compared to a carburator with all the smog gear. At 72, I don't do much hot-rodding either, particularly in an 11-ton box truck!
With a slightly smaller rig than ours and maybe a more efficient transmission, you might get as high as 10 mpg.
