Hello

We recently purchased our first TT in October. 2009 Keystone Outback 268rl from some good family friends who took good care of it. It was lightly used. We are excited to build some great family memories and adventures. We live close to the mountains in NC and love being outdoors. I look forward to learning from the seasoned campers on here. It seems there are plenty of tips and tricks I plan to absorb. We've been out 4 times and have already learned a lot. Please excuse some my potential "newbie" type questions.

Hello Skiles,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the TT. You guys are going to have so much fun!

There are a lot of good people here who will answer all your questions because we were all new at some point. We all had a lot to learn and people with experience are one of the best sources you will find. Old threads here and YouTube are also valuable to you.

Don't be afraid at CG's (campgrounds) to go ask other campers who have a rig like yours. Just explain that you are new and ask how long they have been doing this and do they have any advice. Some you will use and others maybe not. You'll get there.

I would strongly suggest a pressure regulator for your water hose as well as a filter. CG's are notorious for having water pressure higher than what your rig's water lines can take and you sure don't want a pipe leak. Also, the water is often harsh, rusty, or has other items in it you don't want it your lines.

Have a great time with your new rig and time with your family. Lynne

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Thanks for the advice as well. Keep that coming! We do have a pressure regulator but we don't have a filter yet. I fully intend on keeping it between the ditches! Ha!

The timing of buying this TT wasn't exactly planned. They knew we wanted "first dibs" but we didn't think they were ready to sell. Surprise! It's tough to have to winterize it so soon after getting it. We're chomping at the bit to get out. With that said, the winter is turning out to be pretty mild so far. We may be able to get some trips in before Spring.

Skiles,

We just got ours in May and it is our first. A 2004 Winnebago class A MH. LOVE IT! We live in MI and had to winterize too so know exactly how you feel. We did several trips and it was great. I have 18 months (roughly) to work and then retire and we will be traveling and living in our MH a lot.

I have learned so much from the people here and they have been so kind to our lack of knowledge that I now feel comfortable asking anything so ask away. they will help.

Enjoy your rig. Winter is when you read old threads, watch YouTube videos on how to and plan those summer get aways. Lynne
