Hello

Not sure I belong here just yet. I just made a deal on an 87 Coachmen Royal 36' loaded with 45000 miles and a 454. It need some repairs but could be put back to great condition. Right now I know it has an exhaust leak close to the engine. It has a brake line busted in front. It needs the roof re-sealed. I know it needs some work on some of the compartments. It really is nice inside.

Now I am trying to decide if I will ever use it. If I do I would only use it a week or two a year and within 100 miles of home most likely. A camper would do me just as well really, even a real nice truck slide-in.

So do I do the repairs as I can afford to? Might take a couple years with the very very little extra money I have. OR do I sell it the way it is and buy a camper?

I guess an RV is in my future either way so maybe I do belong.

SO Hello all from Ron in Tennessee

Ron; for many years I bought used motorhomes, did the needed repairs and used them then sold them only to do it all over again. It is hard to justify seeing it sit there when you can't use it but then during the times you do it is worth it. I vote for the repairs. I may not have made any money doing this but I didn't really loose any either.
