Hello From Alaska

Jonfrank in Alaska here. We have been locked down in our Outdoors, Timber Ridge 28BKS since the whole CV19 pandemic. My wife and I, and a 12 and 16 year old. We are next to a beach in a small costal town. Daily walk/hikes are keeping us sane. Social distancing isn't an issue here. I like our setup. No regrets. It is nice to see things opening up a bit.

Hi from a Sitka ex-pat!

Next to the beach -- Captain Cook at Nikiski?

Breathe deep, that pristine AK air! It once cured my wife;s headache within 10 minutes of stepping off the airplane.

Welcome...Slowly things (campgrounds) are opening up in the lower 48. As yourself, can't wait to start to use my ORV Timber Ridge again. In the last week I was able to get reservations for four week long trips in my state and the neighboring state. All are at more rural off the beaten path with large campsites.

Welcome to the forum, Jonfrank, and congrats on the Timber Ridge. I'm sure your access to the magnificent scenery and the ability to enjoy outdoor activities has gone a long way toward making a difficult situation more bearable.

Be sure to check out the Outdoors RV Owners forum, if you haven't already done so, and enjoy all of your future camping adventures!

Hello again

Thanks for the welcome. I am presently at the Driftwood in Homer, AK. Very good establishment to chill out during these times. The location is great. Walked through town today and age some great lunch at a quaint place, The Kosmic Kitchen. We are about to to for a walk on the beach.

Oh, the Driftwood Inn is right in town. I've never stayed at the RV park there, but the old inn is nice, if it's still there. I'm usually camped on the spit with my kid and our motorcycles.

Here's from my kid's trip to Homer from Anchorage last season. May your luck be so good! That's his girlfriend. She weighs about what the fish does and fretted that they only got the one bite all day. Then they were putting up fish for three days. I don't know how she's holding on to that slimy flounder:

Welcome to the forum.

We are FT and have been hunkered down in the Hill Country of Texas for the last 2 months and plan on staying another 6 weeks avoiding almost everything. Enjoying long hikes and catching up on "stuff"

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
