Hello from California
Hello everyone, we are new to this forum, but have learned a lot from reading your posts. Well we bought a Chevy 2500HD diesel and a Keystone Laredo 5th wheel trailer. We went on a 5000 mile vacation from California to South Dakota with several stops in between. Having no experience driving a 5th wheel I was somewhat nervous at first. We stayed at several KOA campgrounds and used Passport America at others. Each time we booked a pull thru site with full hook ups. We noticed that not all the KOA's are the same other than the friendly staff at each location. By the time we got home 3 weeks later I felt very comfortable driving the truck and 5th wheel. We had purchased a Pullrite Superglide 2700 along with a capture plate that fit the Laredo. We had an issue that the capture plate came off during unhitching, which may be due to the hieght or pressure between the hitch and the capture plate. luckily I had the tools necessary to reattach it back on the 5th wheel. Overall we are very happy with our purchase and we are planning our next trip.

Congrats on your new rig and first successful trip. We're from the Modesto area so it's always nice to see another Californian.
