Hello from extreme SE Texas
Wife and I purchased a used 2001 38' Dutch Star Saturday. we will take delivery 6-3-14. Making the transition from a Lance truck camper...... big transition. We are newbies,so we may ask a lot of dumb questions at first so please have mercy on us.
We still need to hook up a tow bar for our 2001 jeep Cherokee. We are planning to make a run thru Colorado and back around by the grand canyon in July. Hope we didn't get a lemon, we bought it from Holiday World in Houston. They took it in as a trade in.
See Ya'll on the road, Mike

Check the DOT dates on all of the tires. They may look new but could be several years old. Change all the fluids, oil, trans, coolant on engine and generator to start a new baseline for maintenance. Check battery age and condition. Have the chassis serviced included grease, belts, ride height and air dryer. If the AC's are original then they will need to be inspected to make sure they are operating correctly and providing cold air. If not replace them, you won't be sorry. This is just a short list but take care of the things that get you down the road and keep you comfortable when you get to where you are going. Don't assume anything or believe the salesman when they tell you everything is perfect working order. Good luck and enjoy your new coach.
