Hello from Florida or Switzerland.

Hi Everyone.
Just joined the forum today and I am hoping to receive some input.

My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a Heartland BC 3070 RE.

Unfortunately, my English is not good. I hope you understand me.
We have a vacation home in Florida and want each year 6 months traveling through usa.

Now, I am however confused about what kind of truck size?
The research on the Internet does not provide clear statements.

All major brands, whether 250/ 350 or 450, the same numbers for the towing capacity. (with the same Axle Ratio) What I have to say, we decided for a diesel.

Here are the facts:
Ford:
GCWR 23,500
Towing 15,700 to 16'600
only double wheel has more DRW 23,500 to 24,900

Chevy:
GCWR 24,500
Towing 16,900 to 17,900
Dually 22,600 to 22'900

Heartland:
GVWR 15,500 lbs
Dry Weight 11.740 lbs
Hitch Weight 2,315 lbs
Axles (2) 7,000 lbs

So, whether I buy a 250 or 350 diesel, the GCWR is the same and also the max towing is equals. According to the manufacturer, this should be no problem with a diesel. (??)

Now I have entered these numbers on this website.
Result: 5th Wheel Towing Max is 7500 or less.

I see many travelers with a petrol engine (2500) pulling a 5 wheel foot with 40th
according to this site, these all go in the illegal sector.

Most 5 wheel trailer have a GVWR between 11,500 and 18,000.
Most diesel truck have a GCWR between 22 'and 25'000

therefore must each truck with a 5 wheel with GVWR of more than 15,000 a be dually.

Or what I have misunderstood?

I look forward to becoming well informed by all the experienced people that are members of this forum.

Thanks for your help.

If you post your question in the 5th wheel section above you may have better luck. Good luck

Greetings from a faily Swiss
As for truck? While you could get by with a SRW, Single Rear Wheel 3500/350 series truck with the 15,500 GVWR trailer your considering a dually sure would be a better choice. The downside of a dually is a wider truck that tou will probably end up parking farther away from stores. The upside is a more stable towing experience.
While Ford and GM make good trucks, heck they all make good trucks. I like my Ram for a variety of reasons. One Rams are generally better priced. I understand the new Rams have outstanding interiors, acrually better than the others. But since it is your money, you really need to drive all of them, then decide which YOU like the best.
Truck sales are very regional, so dont let people talk you into something because it is the most popular.

You can thank your Swiss education for providing you better English writing skills than I've observed whilst reviewing many American's resumes.
