Hello from Kansas

I don't really know where to start, I'm always horrible at these introduction things.

I've had a 1976... i think it's a '76 Starcraft Pop-up for the last 4 years but haven't had a lot of opportunities to use it. I recently purchased a '99 Starcraft 305SKS to live full-time with my wife and 3 furry children. That would be the best black lab someone could ask for, an ornery cat, and my wife's dog who we only got because she was severely mistreated for the first 6-months of her life. She has been a great dog for almost 6 years though. Ruger is the lab, Punk is the cat, and Kacy is the last. I still miss my Venus daily, but sadly cancer took her from us a couple years ago. It's amazing how attached you become to an animal.

If you made it through the last paragraph I'm sure you've figured out I don't have human children by now.

Anyway, I got out of the Army after 7 years last July and, thanks to some... problems we'll say... we've been trying to straighten out our finances so I can quit work, use my GI Bill, and go to school full time. One of the steps to doing that is downsizing to live in a camper. We'll be moving in mid-July and hope that it lasts. We're hoping the last step finally happens since she has a horse stables interested in hiring her. Finally, 5 years of vet school may pay off! (obviously her, I know zilch about animals)

Welcome to the Forum and thanks so much for your service. Our pets become very quickly part of the family and we seem to love them just as much as our kids. We hope you have many wonderful adventures in your RV. Best of luck.

Happy RV'ing

Welcome! It's great to have you two....uh....plus Ruger, Punk and Kacy! Not sure about you, but our two furry kids rule the roost...of course they let me do some things...like scratch ears, fill water bowls, top off the food bowl and such. Seem familiar?

Sounds like you have both some adventures and some opportunities ahead. Hopefully you will find a lot of useful information in these forums as well as some great folks to connect with.

Welcome, I see you are in Kansas, are you close to Ft, Riley? They have some nice campgrounds around there.

Definitely sounds familiar. I'd have to throw being allowed to be a pillow/bed in there. None of the three like storms... I was being smothered trying to sleep yesterday. lol

I'm a couple hours from Riley. I've been up by there quite a few times (my brother is stationed there, well, now he's on his way back to Korea, but same thing) but never checked out any of their campgrounds or anything.
