Hello from Maryland
Signed up to iRV2 a couple of moths ago but just noticed you have a new member check-in. Did 24 years in Navy and 18 years with Ball Corporation. Finally stopped working last year and now travel in USA and Canada as much as I can in a Sprinter B-van. Did about 20,000 miles last year and intend even more in 2014. Here is a shot of my rig while camping near a small lake in southern Manitoba last August.

Going to Cantwell, AK, next month.(flying)...driving our new RV late summer like last summer. We too LOVE AK. and make it an annual summer trip....will stay longer this year. We will stay mainly at Alpine Creek Lodge at Mile 68 of Denali Hwy. where only way in in the winter is snow machine (or dog sled In our opinion, Greatest place in Alaska! RVd out Dalton Hwy last visit....unreal and soooooo beautiful! We are crossing our fingers for another Aurora display next month....

We, too, are getting into Rving....started last summer in our ERA (1st RV purchased last Feb).
Sounds like we traveled about the same route as you....we took the Alcan from beginning to end and WOW what an incredible trip. Even took the famous Dalton Hwy -"Ice Truckers" Rd. Almost to the end but due to time contraints stopped within two hrs of Deadhorse. We so enjoyed our ERA...learned to manuever so we wouldn't get in each other's way and had a delightful 6 wks. We have plans of traveling A LOT this coming year, so decided that we would go just one step bigger (with grandkids in mind) and reluctantly traded our ERA in on a new VIA 25P. Supposed to pick it up next week....we're excited! Hope you hear back from you and compare newbie RVing travels. We live in So. Md....south of Annapolis.
