Hello from Michigan
Hello, my wife and I purchased our first fifth wheel this summer and we love it so far. We have had 2 bumper pulls and a truck camper in the past and tent camped for several years when we first got married. We kinda got out of camping when our 3 boys got into sports, 4-H, girls, hunting, etc. Now our youngest is a senior in high school, we sold our bumper pull 1995 Sunline and bought a '97 King of the Road 28ft with a superslide. We are amazed with how much room there is inside, compared to our old campers. I have been searching the forums here for info/tips. I'm probably going to ask some dumb questions, so I'll apologize in advance.

Hi Wango, welcome to the forum. Drag your 5'ver on down to Florida. Plenty of beautiful beaches to relax on. The only dumb question is the on you don't ask.

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us! Congrats on the new 5er! We pulled a 5er for 10 years before recently going to a MH. We loved it! I would suggest that you post your questions over in the appropriate areas of the forum for better results. Not too many folks hang out here. Good luck & God bless!

Welcome to the forum,my wife and I are yupper fans and have an hoorary degree from the yupper university..We were there the last couple of years, enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone.I pull a fiver and have 1 recommend for new fifth wheel owners,do not slide your fifth wheel under without the plates touching,a little lift on your trailer will prevent you from pinning high and dropping your trailer on your truck..Check your pin hookup every time visually and you will be assured it is ok.your fifth wheel hitch is the only hitch that does not need safety chains.Very secure and it is used widely in the trucking industry.Good luck and happy camping , oh and come to Florida we love the visitors,.jeffp, trk and fifth wheel.

Partspasser from Michigan, the capital city.
We have camped in tents, old pop up camper, newer Jayco pop up camper, a Areolite 8' wide by 24 ', crowded by all means, now have a 19' Star craft hard side with fold out beds. Much better then previous units. We are now thinking of buying a 5th wheel. But are looking for a used truck/trailer. We don't like the prices of new rigs.
I am a retired 1SG from the Army with 33 years.

There are some good deals out there. I read a for sale on dodge diesel forum,04 somtiing 29ft for $7800 ,you offer 6200 and you would probably own it. If it is the newer construction,it maybe 1/2 ton towable. I also met a fellow this yr,purchased trk trailer fully equipped for $17000. Nice unit even had dishes and just set up but not used. Shop often and let everyone know you are in the market. The last one was bought from his neighbor. Good luck. Jeffp,an honorary yooper.
