Hello from Oregon

I'm hoping to find some help. I have a 86 chevy allegro 27ft motorhome. A few days ago our brake lights went out along with headlight...no lights on dash...no emergency flashers...all we have are turn signals. We've checked fuses under the dash and all are working. Changed the light switch...changed the brake pedal button...cleaned ground wires....for the life of me I can't find the other fuse box that's in the motor. Thats the last place I can think of. Any other help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks with good info to share. Read the various forums here and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can. Check the vintage RV thread here to see if someone there has an idea for you.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

GM was known to use "fuseable link" wiring at the starter solenoid.
These will be located by the positive battery cable where it attaches to the solenoid. My bet is one fried. You can tell if ones bad by tugging on those wires, if it falls apart there's your problem. Either replace it with fuseable link wire or mount a fuseholder on the firewall and run a new wire.
Good Luck

Ha husband figured it out!!!

So we found out that it's the fuse box itself under the dash that has a short and caused all sorts of issues being no horn...no fans on dash and no cigg lighter plugin. Well messing with those wires it all came back on....now the fun part. Is there somewhere I can look to find a wire guide for the back of the fuse box so we can figure out which wire it is?

Does the front of the fuse box have a map? If so, that's a pretty good guide.

Welcome aboard!

Ugh might be harder than we thought.

So it's not the fuse box but the wires that are connect under it that keep shorting out....whats the best way to deal with this? Took out a bolt but can't seem to lift it up and look at the wires underneath. Can't afford to take it in to someone at this time so idea helpful.

Asking the original poster MrsStrunk: Did you ever resolve this?
