Hello from Texas!!

Hello everyone,

Just purchased a new (old) motorhome and looking forward to doing many local camping excursions with it. ITs a 2004 Damon Escaper, 41'. It has not been used very much as I turned 24K miles on our trip back from Iowa where I purchased it from an old military buddy.
He decided to move up to a newer 5th wheel. Got a good price and so far can't get enough of playing with it.
Been reading blogs and watching youtube video's for days and learning about RVing.

Still up in the air about needing a roadside assistance. I have Geico Insurance and they say I have unlimited towing but still not feeling warm and fuzzy about them. Any comments?

Looking forward to meeting and camping with some new folks!!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! I would go with the FMCA Roadside Assistance. Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome from another 40+ foot newbie!
I can't help on the roadside assistance, yet, since I've got AAA and a towing through insurance and haven't used it.
Keep safe!

Steve

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. I would not travel around with out the roadside insurance.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Thanks all for the welcome!! Been trying to research roadside assistance and have come to one conclusion, DON'T get Good Sam. Very few positive comments.
That said I am leaning towards FMCA. They are more into the large motorhomes and I believe they would know more about calling out the heavy lifters for a 41'.
I have Geico and they said I have unlimited towing milage. Still not feeling warm and fuzzy without roadside assistance and at the price of FMCA seems you can't go wrong.
Any comments or advise?

I would call Geico to clarify if that includes motorhome roadside. It may not. Even with a smaller 24ft class C, i still needed a heavy equipment towing vehicle to to my RV. I personally use AAA Premier Plus RV. Up to 4 tows per year of up to 100 miles.
