Hello from the beautiful Teton Mountains
Hello folks, Debbie and Steve here. We moved to the western side of the Tetons 9 years ago from New Jersey to retire. We try to ski all day, everyday of the winter and explore the western states in summer. There is nothing going on in Teton Valley Idaho so you better like the outdoors for entertainment ! We have a 2011 GMC Savanna AWD van we outfitted as a simple camper. We love to boondock. 3 years ago we got a used 2012 KZ Sportsman Classic 190 travel trailer. We are getting older and the lite trailer is perfect for our needs. The van and trailer do well on unprepared roads getting into remote spots. Pick your path wisely though. Eventually the trailer axel got bent so we had the entire undercarriage upgraded to heavy duty at Iron Bear Trailer in Denver. Great folks who know what they are doing. Larger 3" tube Dexter straight axel, heavy duty springs, brand new brakes & tires. We are ready for summer. Both of us are pretty handy and this forum will help in answering our questions and we will contribute when we can.

Nice to have you here with us.
Browse the forums and ask questions and make yourself at home.
We’ve been to the Tetons twice and love it there. We have stayed in Jackson both times.
Let us know if we can help you.

Howdy!
We lived in Jackson proper from 2000 to 2005. That's when we too got involved in RVing. And, why not there are so many great places to go in ID, WY, MT and UT. And they are not that far away.
Our favorite places, beside the national parks, were DuBois, Thane/Alpine and anywhere in northern Idaho.
We also took the opportunity to visit Bamf, Jasper and other Canadian National Parks. Wow.
GTNP was just 30 miles from our driveway so short one and two day trips were a constant thing.
Winters we skied, snowshoed and X-C skied. Summers we hiked and biked and just plain enjoyed.
Jackson got too difficult and too expensive and we moved back to Texas in 2005 after our daughter graduated from JHS. Plus, she went to Texas A&M and out of state tuition was more than we could afford.
The house we owned in Jackson has gone up 400% over it's original purchase price.
Are you in Driggs, Victor, Tetonia or where???

Hi Debbie & Steve! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!
I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. It will help folks to answer questions you may have in the future. Look at post #30 in the link below that tells you how to do that.
https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/foru...ml#post3101035
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
