Hello from the Everlasting Hills
My name is Terry and my wife is Kris. We own a 2018 Heartland - NorthTrail 27ft camp trailer.
We have enjoyed it immensely, with almost no problems for three years now. Last year I added four 200ah lifpo4 batteries for a total of 9600wh. I also added two 440w solar panels that, until this year, have been ground mounted.
As we spend most of our time on family property in western Wyoming, I tend to move the panels from time to time to accommodate the tree shade, sun location, etc. I am adding two more 440w panels this year so that I can mount them all to the roof, and they will require no moving to charge the batteries with two days of 60% to 70% sun. I can run five to seven days without sun and limited 120v microwave use.
We tend to take the trailer to the property in late May and haul it out early September. Last year was the first year we had no need to hook up to any power from the cabin or run the generator. my wife and daughter stayed there 10 days with no shore power or generator use. It was awesome!
We are changing our living arrangements to accommodate our retirement in two to three years and were wondering if there were any suggestions for full-time RVing, as we will be living in the unit until we complete our home down in the valley. We plan on summers in Western Wyoming and winters in Sothern Utah as our retirement solution.
Thanks in advance
Terry The Northlander
