Thanks the info , plenty to take in from bods on here , lot of planning to do etc , on the other hand may just wing it , turn up , buy and travel , cant get that lost with a sat nav these days.

Travel with Kevin and Ruth! have just done the European side of the exchange (started in January I believe), after their Spanish counterparts did over this side of the pond exchange last summer I believe.

Something we're considering doing for Australia and NZ trip in the future is the exchange route. Either that or maybe consider buying a Rig with a guaranteed buyback at a set price might be a lot cheaper than renting.

Just thought I'd mention it as a possibility.
Think I will take the buy and sell back idea as could be a long trip not tied for time and can extend if we want.
