Thumbs up Hello......

Harrisonlock.

I am with you on this "oil change" issue. Peronnally I change my oil on all my vehicles once a year, I run synthetic from front to rear. On the engine I change the oil filter every 7,500KM, and top up the oil.

Changing the oil every 5,000KM is a waste of our resources!

Have a great day,

Henry,

Welcome to iRV2.

For decades, garages, oil companies, and vehicle dealerships have pushed the 3000 mile oil change interval. Nowadays, these short intervals are mainly for generating business.

Decades ago, that may have been necessary, but with modern engines and modern oil, it's not necessary.

Many folks still believe it's "better" for the engine to change oil more frequently than the manufacturer recommends.

I believe it's a waste of money and I follow the manufacturers recommendation.

Exclamation Oilchange

Welcome to the SUPER Highway of RV information! Now I change twice a year.
When living in Texas in the 60's I changed Oil on my VW every Saturday morning..... !!! At a price of around 0.25 Cents a Quart at the time, cheap insurance. At the time I pulled a boat or a camper with the VW.
