Hello from Wylie, Texas
Hello - I just discovered irv2 and it appears to be an interesting and helpful site, especially for those of us new to the "RV World". I purchased a new Itasca Impulse (Class C) in December 2012 but am ashamed to say it has less than 5,000 miles on it and has taken only 3 trips (2 to local lakes and one longer trip to California). The weather is getting nice here in Texas and I am ready to get the MH out of storage (de-winterizing - or whatever you call it may be a challenge but I am determined to do it soon).
I noticed a solo group on this site and plan to introduce myself there as my guess is a lot of my travel will be by myself.
If anyone has suggestions on campgrounds in North or Central (Hill Country) TX or Southern OK, they would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to meeting some of you irv2'ers on the road!
Leah

Hi!
I can not answer your question since I am not from there, but if you need tires stop in Wylie Tire Shop. My Uncle Al is the Owner and my 2 cousins help him run it, Dan and Mike.
Tell em Jim from Pittsburgh sent ya, they would get a big kick out of that!
Hopefully I will be camping down your way in the near future.

Welcome to the irv2 gang! Sounds like you have had plenty of winter, too! There are a lot of helpful folks here, so you should be able to get answers to all kinds of questions. Good luck with de-winterizing and getting back on the road.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I reconnected with a friend yesterday who wants to try traveling by motor home as her husband is trying to get her to agree to purchasing one as soon as he retires - so he certainly won't object to her going with me.
whem2fish - thank you for the Texas camping suggestions; I will definitely check these out.
Jim from Pittsburgh - I will remember your Uncle Al's tire shop next time I need tires. My coach was part of the Michelin recall so just got new tires installed last week even though replaced tires had only <5K miles. My brother lives in a small town near Pittsburgh - Derry - ever hear of it?
Thanks again, on my way to get the coach out of storage and my first solo attempt to get it ready for travel. Last year for a trip to a local lake a friend took care of the de-winterizing. I later told him I didn't realize he knew that kind of language!!

Yes I know where Derry is. About an 1.5 hrs from me. Closest I get to Derry is Irwin when we visit relatives. 😉
