Glad to meet you all. I'm not traveling, but here to ask advice. My hubby bought a 2000 Monaco Knight (36", Allison, Cummings, diesel) last year. He was smart, replaced headlights, wipers, commode, bought batteries, tires, awning. He knew about electricity, batteries, LP gas etc. Unfortunately, he passed away in Feb. I haven't tried to sell, but will ask a couple questions in reference to storing. Hope someone can help. My children might be interested in using MH, I don't plan on driving it--36' is a little long for me. ha. I'm a retired (at 62, last year) RN. At one time was interested in traveling but nerves shot now. He took me on one trip to Branson, on that terrible two lane Hwy. 169--100 miles of curves and hills and he driving like he was on a race track. The Yorkie was pooping and vomiting and I cried for 50 miles. Someone mowing threw a rock and broke a small side window, couldn't go back and complain--there was no where to turn around! Spent the night, hubby forgot his meds, so we headed back home next day. MH would not start. Had to winch it out of parking space, towed 50 miles to Springfield to a wonderful place-don't know name. They let us spend night in their fenced yard, used their power, they checked, couldn't find anything wrong (the MH started after we were towed to this place, but we decided to stay the night and have it checked, anyway), didn't charge us a penny! Ran out of fuel ,he knew he was low but apparently forgot--can't get far on "low" when you don't get many miles/gal, you know? We were coming into gas station, but had to be towed again. Lost spare off back end, got lost in dark and rain in Memphis, came home with scrapes on both sides, he was so tired he took down the fence turning in the driveway.
I'll just stay home. I could tell you more but I've said enough. Anyhoo, you are all sweet people, glad to be here with you.
