Hello, RV renter here
I will be RV'ing for the very first time come this summer. We are renting. I wanted to buy but I have read allot about renting first. Plus I have no clue on how to buy and then all the extras like ins. We are also moving so it was more feasable to rent to move and possible cconsider a purchase later. So we are renting from Cruise America and moving from GA to Northern CA. We are taking 40 across. Either 5 or 99 up Cali. So that is why I am here. Never been in an RV before. I just love the thought of them and always wanted one. We are getting a 30ft class C and towing a hatchback. I am also on another forum. I am just trying to learn and get the tips and secrets.

Great idea to rent first, that way you can get a feel for if the RV lifestyle is for you before you sink many thousands into a piece of yard-art that never gets used. I can't imagine how anyone would not love RVing, but there are folks that don't. Must be something wrong with them.
Anyway, post your questions, then buckle up for the flood of answers.

I agree with the others that renting is a great way to see if RVing is for you. You eill meet great people RVing and see things you might not have seen otherwise. Enjoy your journey and welcome to IRV2.

Welcome and renting is good for you to try out this rv'ing thing we love.
We rented a 27'class C for a week. We knew we'd love it and assumed it would be similar to our previous boating travels. We were one year away from buying and it was great. It really helped to convince us on the way to go.
Have fun.

Howdy Connie and welcome to the forum! It's a very good idea to rent a moho before making such a huge investment. I hope you have a great trip!

Anything you could ever want to know about renting/using a RV for the first time, can be found in the movie "RV" ! I can't believe nobody has mentioned it yet...
Actually, that's pretty much everything NOT to do, but it is a very funny movie! Well worth the $5 it is selling for these days. Welcome to iRV2!!!

Hi Connie, welcome to the forum. Best of luck on your trip. How far are you planning on traveling in a day? How much time will you have to sightsee?

Wow thanks everyone!
We have the RV for 9 days. I am figureing between 2 drivers we can drive 8hrs+ a day. I plan to be up ealy (I am anyway) and camped early- before sunset as I am driving west and dont want sun issues lol whimpy maybe? I drove east a few times in a car and that morning sun is brutal.
Are only real plan so far is the Meteor Crator (SP) in Arizona. Living in Atlanta so long I forgot what a stary night is like. I have been through AZ and NM at night before and the stars are amazing. I was thinking the grand caynon and Yosemite but we have pets we are takng so we really can't leave them alone. 2 kids a few pets and us the adults lol.
So far I have planned stops in/around Possibly Memphis, TN or Little Rock AR (actually Clarksville if I can get a hold of a friend there) Amirillo, TX, Winslow AZ and trying to figure out one more easy stop going up CA. I told the teenager we are stopping at every were that has a song so we can annoy her with our signing lol. Of course plans are just ideas. LOL I wont actually know until it's been done.
Thansk for the tips. I will keep reading.
