Here from CA

Saw a link from this site on my web page, so I thought I would check it out, and help the original poster. It was about adding hp to a Cat 3208.
Me? I'm 41, live in Modesto, CA, and been exposed to RV's since I was born. I can barely remember the early 70s Open Road(dodge 440) my parents had, then traded up to a 77 Mobile Traveler(Dodge van/360) when I was about 7 or 8.
By hobby, I'm a meduim duty truck enthusiast, catering to engine performance. To pay the bills, I am a lineman.

Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

P.S.- We needed a good lineman around here!

Parts of '99 have been repaired this past year, so it's not near as bad as it used to be. My work truck used to catch air on a few of the potholes and joints. The only secret I know is to stay in the middle lane when it has 3 lanes. I5 is a little smoother, but there's not as many places to stop.

Thanks for the quick response. Have heard i5 is bumper to bumper traffic but 99 might be too?
Guess we'll find out in three weeks. Been in northern CA twice, first venture south.

I5 can be bumper to bumper on a friday afternoon, but mostly clear. Hwy99 has spots of heavy traffic in the afternoon. Just get past Modesto before 4pm, and the rest is easy. If you're taking Hwy58 East from Bakersfield, you might as well use Hwy 99 anyway. Really nice drive up to Barstow, as long as your air conditioner works good.

To make a note, thanks to a couple RV's, I have seen 27 of the US states, plus Canada and Mexico.
