Hey from Indiana

Just happened upon this site looking for ideas for mods for our Tiffin Phaeton. My husband & I have camped/RV'd for over 40 years:

tent>truck topper>Rockwood Pop-up>15 ft Prowler travel trailer>31 ft Prowler travel trailer>30 ft Jayco travel trailer>31 ft Sandpiper fifth wheel>31 ft Springdale fifth wheel>36 ft Blueridge fifth wheel>36 ft Tiffin Phaeton motorhome

We aren't full time yet but hope to be soon. We currently travel with our five mini schnauzers & hit the road as often as possible.

Hope to share a little & learn a lot!

Connie

Welcome aboard! You have an amazing background in RV's and campers and should be a great resource for us as well.

Request: I know that Indiana is a big state, but if you have anything to share about the best route through Indianapolis to/from I-70 to I-74 driving a large RV, I would be most appreciative. Been through many times, but wind up taking I-65 to 38th St & I-465 or taking I-70 to Sam Jones Exp to I-465. The first route seems shorter, but 38th Street has lots of traffic and many traffic lights. Your thoughts?

BTW, now that we know the Powerball winner is from Indiana, will you share?

If you are travelling east on I70 from IL and want to go east on I74 toward Cincinnati, then you should hop on 465 South/East and drive along the south side of Indy then exit to I74. If you are coming from Cincy reverse to get to IL.

If you are coming on I74 from IL and want to go east on I70 toward OH, then you should hop on 465 North and follow it around the north side of Indy and to the east side then exit to I70 East. If you are coming from OH then reverse to go to IL.

I recommend NOT getting off the interstate and do not go through downtown on I70/I65. Roads can be rough, narrow in places, backed-up with traffic and just a pain to negotiate in a Class A. Hope this helps!
