Hey Happy Campers

Moving from a mid 90s Class A 34 footer to a new 29.2 ACE. Finished our inspection at dealer on Monday and had them hold it to fix a couple of minor things.

1) Kitchen sink bowl not draining due to deformation around drain. I think the plumbing was causing some up-pressure.
2) Gouge/tear in the vinyl floor size of thumbnail. This was the saddest find as they said they "have a guy" that can fix it. If unhappy or it doesn't last they will replace entire floor. I'm not encouraged by that idea as far as the amount of things that would be disassembled and put back together.
3) Other items all minor and unmentionable.

I was disappointed to find rust and tire sling underside. RV was probably brought from Elkhart in January to Rockford, IL and they really should flush the underbody to avoid this immediate depreciation. There was a lot of debris just simply resting on the underside of the front bumper from the trip. Not just sand and dirt, but interestingly enough, an extra hardware latch like the one used to secure the front grill closed right above where it was found. Kind of a Z shaped piece of hardware.

Anyway, we are a family of 5 and an 80lb furball. However the oldest daughter is in college and spends most of Summer as a camp counselor in N. WI.

Looking forward to spending more time behind the wheel this year as we should feel more road ready with the new coach. Hope to pick it up in a couple days and be on the road for a trial run in April.

We love biking, hiking, boating, canoeing and meeting others. I don't particularly like the high traffic tourist destinations. I'd rather go out of my way for a more natural setting and less traveled path.

We've enjoyed trips to MO, TX, NM, CO, IA, WI, and of course a couple stops in our own state of IL. We are at the border of WI so we spend a lot of our summer up there. I'd like to make a trip back to Lake Superior this Summer and I'd love to go all to the way to San Diego or Florida someday. Yellowstone would be great as well.

I'm thinking about joining boondockerswelcome and would love to hear reviews on that idea.

Best,
Tom

Welcome. Hope all goes well with the repairs and your family is able to take that first "shakedown cruise" soon.

Welcome, need to check out some of our State Parks here in Arkansas, just avoid July and August, very hot and humid.
