Hey there

Just was gifted a 1999 Mallard 24J travel trailer from my dad. He's owned it for a while. It needs some work (interior seals are cracking, window glass needs replaced), but all in all it's in great shape. Look forward to talking with folks.

It's so weird being the same age as old people.

Congratulations and welcome. You can't go by the tread depth or appearance of your tires like you can with car tires. Trailers and MHs don't get driven enough for that. You need to check the DOT date code embossed on your tires. The rule of thumb is to replace after five or six years, especially if they've been sitting for a long time.

And, when you buy tires, make sure you get specialized trailer tires and double check the size against your trailer's specs. Don't just buy what's on there.

Welcome to the group, from Mayport Naval Station, for now.
You may want to add the information of your rig in your signature line so everybody will know what rig you have.
Also any questions you will get more responses if you post in the travel trailer forum, more individuals will visit that forum, then the new member forum.

Any questions ask away
