Smile Hi all ! NEW here,,,,and New to Rv's

Just bought our first Holiday Rambler Aluma lite XL 1989
We are so excited to start renovating it! I can not find any manuals or schematic of the layout of all the "Stuff" underneath!
I wanted to move my frig to the other side and renovate the bathroom but have no clue where to begin.

Does anyone on this site may have a copy they would be willing to share with me. A service manual or build sheet?
Can you move major appliances?
Can you take down walls?

Hope to hear from you!!
Maria

Hi Maria and welcome to iRV2

Glad to have you here with us.

Manuals for most RVs are very scarce and the ones you can find are usually useless. The best thing is to ask specific questions about systems in the appropriate forums. You will be surprised how much help you'll get. Remember you have an older unit and the vintage forum may be a good place to start.

So awesome!

Gonna restore, or renovate?

I renovated one of my old rigs. Up to a point it's not hard, take out all the furniture, while it's out you do the floors, paint, work on trim. Then run down to Ikea, they have pretty much anything you'll need lol. That's what I did, still miffed I never made it into the catalogue. This table is the bomb, granted I'm no fan of dinettes. Folds away to nothing, and look at all that storage. Solid wood. I am generally of the opinion RV's are over-stuffed with furniture. It's like boats; at the dealer people are always asking "how many will this thing sleep" like they are taking Patton's army on a roadtrip or something. I think they are too dark too. Combination is claustrophobic imo. I like to just lighten everything up.

Bathroom may take some time, depends on amount of water damage. Subfloor isn't terrible to replace, cut out the worst of it, glass in a replacement, epoxy the rest, done. Toilet replacement is easy. Shower can be a challenge, hard to find plug-n-play solutions

I replaced a wall, you just frame it up like you would in a house. I dunno about removing walls, they provide structural rigidity to the box.

Switching location for a propane refrig would require running gas, DC and AC, that would be a project. I don't really like those things anyway. Fire hazard, don't work all that great to begin with. Residential reefer for the win imo

Look how pretty with wood floors. Haha they have my table! I put that exact tile over my sink. Bathroom is wow. Those shoes? Dang.

Post pics! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

Hi Maria! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! Just write down the make and model numbers of the individual systems and Google for manuals! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
