Hi All New Here.... Had questions?

Hello Everyone,

My wife and I just joined a couple of days ago and are new to the RVing world. We are looking to purchase our first (used) RV and think we have narrowed it down and are looking for some input from experienced people.

We are looking at a 1997 Winnebago Warrior 32RQ. Anyone have opinons good or bad on this make/model? The unit looks in good overall condition for the year. Has 62k miles and pretty much all the bells and whisltle's we have seen on most older rv's... 5k Onan gen, micro/convec oven, 2 door frid/frez, on demand water heater, 2 roof a/c's.

The only things it did not have is a backup camera (I can add i think) or levelers. I thought most rv's came with levelers either hyd or manual. This one has neither. Not sure it's a big deal or not.

Anyway, any advise would be much appreciated as we begin this journey.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join the gang!

I can't help with your questions, but I would suggest that you post any questions over in the appropriate areas of the forum for best results. Not many folks hang out here in the Welcome area. Enjoy the forum!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Remember that Motor Home, while sexy is also the most expensive form of RV on the market. Not only expensive to buy but maintenance can be expensive as well. Add the fact that most people have a small toad meaning another complete drive train that must be maintained, are you positive your ready to jump in that much money? As an alternative and to test the waters you might consider renting for a few times and or buying a much smaller RV like a tent trailer to see if you actually like it or not.

If you are looking for a Motor Home you should find it to be a "buyers market". You may have to travel to find the unit you want but if you search around you can find some good deals on very nice Motor Homes. I am not familiar with the Winnebago Warrior 32RQ but I think a motor home with out leveling jacks would leave a lot to be desired. Are you looking for a gas or diesel pusher. Check tire DOT dates and and maintenance records on the chassis. Old tires can still look good but may have dry rot and cracks. Good luck

Keep us posted and post pictures for the forum to review and comment.

Welcome aboard. I don't remember the older gas units having levelers. wOur first Rv didn't have levelers, so we used leveling ramps under the rear or front tires to level the coach. Seemed to work fine.

I would think most class A of that age would have the levelers but I have certainly seen some without. You could probably live without it and if you have never had them you wouldn't know what you are missing.

You can certainly use blocks under the tires to level the rig but the big thing other than the convenience of pushing a few buttons on the dash is the stability.
You can really notice other people walking around or rolling over in bed if you are stationary also wind can rock things around quite a bit.

If your on move a lot or just weekending you might not even want them. Just another thing to break down.

I have them on my unit but the hydraulic pump has given out.

i REALLY miss them now.

from NH. Not a deal breaker on the levelers, I've had without and with. Either way makes a convenience difference but that's all. Find the coach that seems to be the one and have a great time. Check it out fully prior to purchase, better still have someone who knows look it over. They can be a money pit. Good luck.
