Hi everyone

Hello all. New to the community. We are in the research phase and are looking for any and all advice about a Class C vs TT. We are leaning toward the C (Greyhawk 31F) with toad on a tow dolly.

Not sure about quality but need the space and want to make the best choice for our budget we can - 65-90k.

Thank you all!

Hello from New Member

Hello all,

Just joined the forum. Just bought a 2019 Forest River 24' Forester LE, class C MH on a Ford E-450 chassis.

I'll be 82 yrs young in April. I live in Kerrville, TX, 65 mi NW of San Antonio. While not new to RV'ing it has been quite a few yrs since I sold the last rig. This new to me rig has all kinds of bells and whistles that the last rig didn't have. Looking for all the info, tips 'n tricks I can find.

Happy RV'ing,

CR

Welcome to the forum both of you. Charley congrats on the new rig. Family travel good luck on your search. Depending on how long your trips are you might find it a bit small. I would also consider a vehicle you can flat tow rather than a dolly. The dolly can be a huge PIA to hook and unhook your car.

You are joining a good group of folks with good info to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

I agree with what momdoc said above ^^^^^^^ . . . and also:

With a Class C at that length, often cargo weight is surprisingly limited. GVWR minus dry weight minus tongue weight of whatever is being towed equals remaining cargo weight. Something else to keep in mind. That said, with a TT you often can't tow anything else (depending on location) but you can sometimes put more stuff in the back of the tow vehicle. Either way, I'd suggest weighing by axle to get a good idea before major commitments are made.

Welcome aboard!

That's a nice rig, and not as close on the weights as the bigger Class C's. You've come to the right place for tips 'n tricks!

Welcome aboard!
