Hi everyone😀 My name is Vince and my wife is Vivkie.
We just bought a 2004 Mandalay class A motor home, it had 53,000 miles on a 330 Catapillar. We recently went on a trip to Roseburg Oregon from Southern California, we were getting 5.9 miles to the gallon not towing anything, is that about average.

Welcome Vince...and fuel mileage
Vince,
We were in northern California and Oregon last year; including Roseburg. We have a Caterpillar 3126E, 330 bhp, engine in our motor home. Pulling a motorcycle and trailer, our fuel mileage averages over 5 years has been 8.3 mpg. While in northern California and Oregon we averaged about 7.9 mpg. Hope this information helps.

Vince & Vickie;
We are glad you joined us. Congratulations on the purchase of your Mandalay. Sorry I can't answer your question on mileage. We get around 7.2 on our Horizon with a Cummins 400 HP towing a Saturn. Browse the forums that interest you and don't be afraid to ask questions. Our members like to help when they can. Post often and share your new RV adventures with us.

On average, a typical DP will do about 7-8 MPG. If you are seeing less than 7 it's worth some investigation. If you're seeing more, don't tell anyone because they will think you're lying.

Glad to have you here with us.
Typically a DP will average between 7-9 mpg. Your speed is usually the big factor in your mpg. Your sweet spot should be around 1700-1800 rpm.
Best of luck with your new Mandalay and Happy Trails!!!
