Hi from Alberta

Hello everybody. My name is Ken. I'm a single divorced guy living in a '97 Monaco Signature Series 40. I'm in a different situation than most as I also still work full time and am living in my coach year-round here in Alberta. Yes, it gets cold here but I'm lovin' every minute of it. I'm going to start a new thread in the Monaco forum that gives a link to a blog I've been writing since last summer about my exploits if you're interested.

Welcome neighbour from cowtown. So how are you enjoying this last few days of great weather? Where do you park your unit out there or on a property?

Hi calgarygring. I am actually between Priddis and Bragg Creek on a 112 acre treed parcel of land. I have a Priddis address but I am closer to Bragg Creek. I had a proper 50 amp power connection for my coach installed but have no water hookup or easy sewer hookup. I use a macerator pump and a couple of long hoses to dump my tanks into the toilet of a derelict mobile home I'm parked beside. I know there is an old septic field here. After dumping the tanks I dump a jug of RV anti-freeze in the toilet to keep it from freezing up. So far, so good. It's -27C here tonight. Check out my blog at muniac.com. It's under the "Adventure" section and is titled "Full-Timing Thru Alberta Winter". Thanks for your interest.

Welcome to irv2.
Have been in your area but during the summer thank you, here is a link to keep systems in working order and another to maybe help with the cold.
Keep the furnace running and stay warm up there.
Saw it 65* below in Fairbanks, Alaska and its cold but so dry your ears could fall off and not know it.
Enjoy the forums.

Thanks for the comments and links "007". I'll check them out soon. I hear you about those super cold temps. You know it's really cold when you spit and it bounces!

Keep warm. Here is the current temp and since you are a couple miles west my guess maybe even a degree or 2 less.

Temperature:-27.1°C Wind:NNW 20 km/h Wind Chill:-39
