Hi from British Columbia!

Hey everyone!

I'm Oliver, a 23 year old from British Columbia, Canada. I grew up with RV'ing. When I was little my parents had a tent trailer and then upgraded to a 5th wheel. I've always loved camping!

I started working for a company that does maintenance on existing pipelines in BC and we work out of town a lot, and get paid a living out allowance. Many of my coworkers stay in their trailers as it is much cheaper to pay for a campsite for a few weeks over a hotel. So last year I borrowed my parents 5th for work and saved a lot of money! At the end of the season I was taking it to park for the winter and parked it out front of my house for the night, woke up in the morning to find this.....

The guy that hit it claimed that the sun was in his eyes and he didnt see it...I dont know what happened because I didnt get outside until the vehicle had been towed away. Anyways, it got written off and this worked out great for my parents cause they got a brand new TT.

So that meant I wasnt allowed to use their new TT. I dont blame them! So at the beginning of the work season last year I found a great deal on a 2006 Fleetwood Pioneer 270FQS. So I pulled the trigger!

So because campsites are so much cheaper than hotels, my living out allowance is basically paying for my trailer! Perfect for me!

I was towing with a 1994 3/4 ton Silverado, a hand me down from my dad, all this season.

This is a picture from a weekend of boondocking just outside of my hometown.

Then about 2 months ago the transmission decided to go on it. Not worth fixing so I found myself a new truck.

Found a good deal on a 2010 Silverado CC 5.3L

Very happy with this truck so far, and I can't wait to start towing with it this spring!

I've already found lots of interesting and useful info on this forum and can't wait to learn more about rv'ing!

Welcome to IRV2

New truck, new trailer. Next year how about a nice Corvette? The 6.2 is so much sweeter... Once you go 6.2 you don't go back. Enjoy your BC weather, some of us aren't that fortunate.
