Hi from Michigan!
Nice place you've got here! We're from the Great Lake State. Paul (that's me), Sharon, Justin (14) & Brandon (10). My wife & I are somewhere in our 40's. We both came from camping families, so it was only natural that we'd end up camping/RVing ourselves. We started out with a small pop-up, and once the boys came along we decided to upgrade to a small travel trailer. The boys took to it like ducks take to water. Most of our vacations are spent in northern MI.
We picked up the nickname "The Meanderthals" after a vacation with my brother-in-law & family. It was noticed that while we left before or at the same time as others, we were always the last to arrive at our next destination due to our preference for taking our time en route, stopping whenever something looked interesting. We figure we may only be through the area once, why not take time to enjoy the sights on the way?
...and why "Ace Blazer"? When I bought my new-to-me '04 Chevy Blazer a few years back, the license plates that came on it contained the letters ACE. I just kinda liked the sound of Ace Blazer- sounded like a cheesy dime-novel detective- so I started using it as my letterboxing trailname. Eventually I started using it as a username on a few different forums.

Meanderthals ( ) Welcome!!
My former husband is from Menominee and I have visited up there. Beautiful part of the country!!
I like the way you travel. Half the fun is getting there!
I hope that you enjoy it here and share your adventures.

welcome to iRV2 folks. Now I have one suggestion for you. ...please keep the cold air up there. It has been too cold in Texas.

Menominee; that's one place we haven't been...yet. Next time we're up there, I want to try taking US2 all the way across the state. Maybe I'll make that left turn at Escanaba. Usually we head toward the Superior coast somewhere.

I try...but apparently a LOT of it's been slipping past. It's been cold everywhere. I heard on the news a couple days ago there was snow in 49 of the 50 states. Never heard who the 50th was- I'm guessing Hawaii...
...ya know, usually people are asking me to hold back on the HOT air...

Hello Ace... Well, I was born in Los Angles but we came to michigan when I was but 3.. Lived in MI for ... A long time, and still have my official residence there.
Decided not to shovel snow this winter (for the 1st time) and came to South Carolina where on my first Sunday in Church (2nd day in the state) I got invited to join the church Choir... about half of us are from Michigan. Choir director studied at Eastern Michigan University......
I lovely state. When I'm in Michigan I split my time between Davison and St. Clair (membership parks I belong to) Give me a shout (PM) if you want to know more about those parks.
One of the fun things for me though is Ham Radio.. I listen to a couple of nets in the morning where folks among other things give the outside temp reading
It is fun hearing how Detroit is Colder with snow, and we are warmer with.. Well I do admit we had snow one day, Did not stick long though, Started snowing on Friday and on Sunday when I went to church the only snow left on the road was a small pile (About a shovel full) that had fallen off a car.
