Hi from NZ :)

Hi all, nice to be here.
We have a 1996 MAN 11.1m Bus. Converted to home.
Huge job but love it.
Here to see what issues others have had etc, ideas and advice

Just got a new hybrid PowMR 4.2kw controller/inverter/charger.

I have questions re battery configuration options and balancing if someone might point me in the right direction to ask these questions would be great

Many thanks

Ash

Have you installed an inverter/charger? If not you may want to and when you buy one, speak to the manufacturer about the batteries and what way to hook them up. I dont know your level of understanding, but, you will need this to power your AC appliances. Some people have gone with lithium batteries, but if you are in cold climate you may want to think about warming pads under the batteries when plugged in. We have a Magnum 2000 and 4 deep cycle batteries.

Have you installed an inverter/charger?
Hi there yes
All installed but I think its all about correct wiring set up.
ie the 6 panels so Im getting the most amps for charging batteries and also with the 8 6V 225ah deep cycle agm to connect them the best way to get 24V but as balanced as possible.

With the 6 panels the PowMr tells me im getting just 36V coming in. Ive got them now in series paralel 3 sets of 2. In hope of getting more amps over voltage.

At present the batteroes are set up as 2 sets of 4 and each string is simply + to - so I know Im not getting balanced charging or discharge.

Ill have to add im really impressed with the 4.2kw PowMr unit.
So many settings
