Hi from The Crowded Camper mom
Hi everyone-
We are brand new to full time camper living, but we making it work for a year. My husband is doing military training around the US and we thought it would be a grand adventure for the family! We have two small kids, two huge dogs and 1 grumpy fish packed in here. It's awesome connecting to other families doing the same, that can relate to the chaos that is crowded camper living. Check out my blog if you need to laugh at beginner campers. Thanks!!

Thanks y'all for the support! If I could figure out the appliances in our fiver I think we would all be so much happier. I've never used a microwave/convection oven and everything I make never cooks all the way. It's the convection oven that's ticking me off...
If I use the propane oven it takes almost 3 times as long. I have no idea why. Makes me feel like an idiot that's for sure! Might as well pitch the ham in the yard and eat off the ground. That's as good as it tastes from the oven.
I appreciate the blog encouragement! It's pretty new but I think my blog posts are consistently on Mondays and Thursdays. I put extra pics and updates on the Facebook page. It's at http://www.facebook.com/thecrowdedcamper
Please keep sending advice! I need all of it!

We use the convection oven all the time, it's the only oven we have.
We find that the times to bake are about the same as a conventional oven, and bakery items seem to bake more evenly (no more "raw" spot in the middle of the banana bread). Our only frustration is when making a big meal (Thanksgiving is coming) we miss being able to use the microwave and oven functions at the same time.

Becky,
If you have not already discovered this, go to your local big box store and buy a 12X12 or 14X14 unglazed floor tile. One of those red ones from Mexico work great. Go home and place this tile inside the oven directly above the burner on the heat plate. Leave it there forever. Now, when you cook something this tile will absorb and even the heat out. Things will cook great from now on.
