Smile Hi from "The Land of Hot" Az

I am new to this site and I love it, the information I have found has been invaluable. So far I have been trying to read every post and have been only been able to get to page five out of "n" pages, n being unknown. I am not new to RV'ing as I have had some sort of RV for the past 50 years, from homemade pickup camper to the current 1997 325B Damon Intruder which I have had just over a year. The ride, well about what my ancestors must have felt coming out west in a covered wagon but with much more amenities. I think all I have to do is lower the tire air presure. Just returned from a trip from _ _ _ _, (Utah). DW(and thats not Dear Wife) now even refuses to fly over . Too early in the year, too cold, too windy. We have found a spot outside of Phoenix in the desert to park the Damon and now am looking for a way to get some shade. I paid well over $300 last sommer for a cover and only took about 2 months to reduce it to a pile of rags. Too late in life to plant trees but we do have water and electric and somehow wifi which will allow us to camp out away from the city. Anyway thanks for the wonderful RV info site and I am sure I will do some posts of my own.

Welcome to iRv2. You will love this place. It's chocked full of useful and money saving information as you seem to have found out. I just returned from a 3 week trip myself and decided on the last day to lower my tire pressure and see if it made a difference. I was shocked to see that the dealer had inflated them to 130 lbs a few weeks prior to our trip. I lowered the front to 98 and the rear to 110 and WOW what a difference. I was embarrassed that I hadn't thought of that earlier. I realize I would rather go through tires faster than have highly inflated tires bump my motor home to death.
Good luck with your travels and keep us informed as to what's going on with you. We all learn from each other.
Ed
