We are returning in Feb 2014 to travel south to Southern Cal to get some warm weather but then coming back for 4 months in June, July, Aug, Sept to travel north and see the northern states i.e. Montana, Washington, Oregon. Hoping to return back to Phoenix via the Oregon coast road

Welcome from a couple of ex-pats who've made NW Washington home. Our part of the state (the San Juan archipelago) is a beautiful spot. We've lived in Anacortes since late 1999, after I retired from 30 years with Boeing.

Fidalgo island, where Anacortes is located, is the only San Juan Island you can drive to, for others you need a boat. The State ferries go to four of them, but are expensive to take an RV on.

We hope you get time to see Washington - it's a very beautiful place.
