Hi to all
New member mike and wife Karen. Just purchased a used Damon Daybreak with brother and sister-in-law for an Alaska trip.
Alaska trip includes Kenai fishing and Denali visit. We go north on the Alaska marine highway and return via Yellowstone.
Been a learning experience getting everything fixed and the iRV2 site has been a good information go to place.
Information such as What LP tanks are required to be updated and which are not.
Well today’s chores are taking down the driveshaft and greasing the u joint cups. Then starting a search for mud dauber homes in the propane systems.

Welcome to iRV2.
Sounds like you purchased a project RV.
Propane tanks mounted to an RV have a different recertification schedule than BBQ bottles , and that may vary by state/province.
Travel to Alaska , could be in doubt for this summer as the Canada /USA border crossings closure, for tourist traffic , continues to be extended .
Hopefully you'll get to make your trip soon .
Safe travels .

Welcome to iRV2
Nice to have you onboard with us.
Let's hope the closed borders reopen this season. They've been closed too long for some of us.
Good luck with your trip plans.

Mud daubers
All,
Well the daubers were there! I went online and saw videos of how to get to the dismantling of the coach heater. I cleaned one nest off the burner head and checked the rat cage by turning it. Found more here and there. Couldn’t get into the plenum around the corners. Any word of advice on how to check inside?

The furnace heat exchanger has to be stripped of all other equipment , then it can be washed out , then fully dried before reassembly .
If you don't have the manual for your furnace , or any other appliance , in the RV, here's a great place to look.
