Hi, we're new in town!

Hello Community, we are the Roaches (Mick and Kelli). We recently acquired a "Thor" Citation (25 x 7.9) in a bartering deal. We have been in the Ceramic Tile Biz for 20 years, so we gave them a beautiful new bathroom, and they gave us our new home! Pretty good trade, huh? Well, we mostly do commercial work, which requires travel, and a lot of it....Hotel room after hotel room, and, in the rare instance it was possible...we would camp out (in a tent), not only to save money, but because we love to fish and just be outside after work. We tried home-ownership, which wasn't our cup of tea...we were still constantly travelling, so we rarely got to enjoy our investment...it was more like paying for a high cost storage unit! Then when the economy bottomed out around 2006, we ended up losing it in foreclosure! We have been "homeless", so to speak, ever since. Staying in hotels while we worked, and staying at his Mom's house when we came home (Cartersville, GA) for holidays, etc. We had been planning to buy an RV for better than a year...because we were getting sick of all our belongings being in storage! We wanted our own "home"...no matter what town we might be in next. Naturally, when this opportunity popped up, we jumped on it! It's an older model (1988), and despite some minor water damage (leaking around a small "sky-light" in the bathroom) it's clean and all the appliances work! We just got it a week ago, and are on our second day out with it, on a short job in Athens, AL..so we are staying at the lovely Wheeler State Park! Unfortunately the exterior is not in as great shape, so our trip over here was made without driving lights! We bought a new 7 blade hookup which we still have not made functional; thank God we didn't get a ticket! Still trying to figure out the lights, and we can't figure out how the water system works, so we will be checking out the forums for some enlightenment from our more "seasoned" fellow RV'ers! So far, we are truly enjoying a new sense of freedom and "home-ownership", but yet, a little apprehensive about our complete lack of knowledge about functionality, safety and maintenance. Glad to part of the community, and we thank you in advance for your help and insight! Happy Trails, Y'all...and BE SAFE!

welcome aboard.
Sounds like DW & I having to figure out stuff.
Been full timing for over a year and still learning about stuff.
First 5ver I learned a lot about repairs and so with the next one.
Funnest was the darn water heaters in all three 5vers.
Did I learn how to fix them some times I do some times I don't.
I found out some times there a pain in the water..
Good luck.
It's all good!
