Smile Hi yall

Hi all, Britexan checking in here. I am a 55 year old Brit living in Houston Tx. I am a complete novice, beginner, newbie as far as RVing goes. I haven't got a clue. (Can't fault me for honesty). My wife, Robbie (a Texan) and myself are wanting to get into the RV scene. We have been interested and looking for a few years. Now it is time to do. I am retired already and Robbie will be in 2 years time. At this moment we have no intention of becoming full timers, but intend getting our moneys worth. Hope to purchase our first RV within the next 6 weeks.

If your looking to buy used, which is usually the best choice for first timers, first stop to learning what you want is PPL. You'll see the biggest selection and may even find one you want.

Welcome to the start of an RV life.

Not sure what you mean by getting your money's worth. If you mean you hope to get full value for what you spend that is very subjective. It will depend upon what and how you enjoy the lifestyle. But it can be done.

If you hope to do it on the cheap, you may be disappointed. RV is not a cheap lifestyle. You will be driving a vehicle that is subjected to a constant 3.5 earthquake everytime you move it. Keeping up on the routine maintenance will mitigate much of those issues.

Perhaps taking the opportunity to rent will give you the taste of RV'ing that will help you with the decision you are about to make regarding what kind of RV (popup, TT, 5er or MH) before you make a final decision.

My wife and I have a 5er which we replacing with a coach. Also have a popup we pull behind our motorcycle that we enjoy as well.

You will enjoy the lifestyle if you are like us.

Howdy from SC and welcome to the forums. All sound advice from the previous posters. I second buying used too! Let someone else take the depreciation hit.

We have thought and talked about this a lot, and we agree, a used RV is best. Just got to figure out which one. Thanks for the welcome
