Ideal rest so called bed

Has anyone had this experience with ideal rest King bed in Winnebago Tour?

At first our bed was hard as a rock on the edges. After seven months the edge on the left side of the bed is so worn and horribly soft that I cannot sit to get into bed without sliding off.

Also the bed is so shortened and narrowed by these foam edges and center foam ridge that the sleeping space is narrowed to 27 inches wide and 68 inches long as one cannot sleep on the foam bars. Also the inflatable area is completely random. For instance, without ever changing the numbers manually, the 0 to 50 gauge is different every time I lie down and 30 or 40 or whatever is never the same hardness twice.

THis bed is truly less comfortable than my ten year old innerspring was in my old coach. When the number is low it sleeps like a short hammock with the heaviest part of me sunken. At a higher number it is like a board.

Have I gotten a lemon, or has anyone else experienced any of these problems? Looking forward eagerly to hearing your replies. Thanks for trudging through this post.

Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

That sounds like a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. We have been using one for several years and love it!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I bought a mattress at Ikea of all places, and it has been great. 10 year warranty, and stores everywhere in case I have a problem. Queen sized medium firm like I like was only $240. I recommend everyone check there before buying if you want to try to save some money on a pretty good mattress, IMO.
