This is my first time to drive, dump, hook-up, fuel up as Bill did everything. Previously I cooked, cleaned and gave directons from my laptop. We picked up our new rv, had 2 days to learn, get fuel and propane, load and we just completed 2000 miles with me as the driver and traveling behind friends in their MH. Needless to say, friends and some family think we are crazy. I am 82 and Bill is 83 but not ready to give it up. I had a lot of help from strangers at RV parks and at the gas pumps. People are nice, willing to share information, and also willing to go out of their way to be helpful. I say, "Never too old to learn" and 'enjoy every day that you have'. I will post later with quesitons. Maggie
Well of course you are crazy! I've found It really helps.

I really needed to hear that, Maggie. I'm 58, which some don't think is old, but it's getting there! Things don't work as well as they used to (and I've got some chronic health issues) and since I'll be on my own I have to make my plans around that. Its very different if you're on your own, but I'm glad I'm not too old to learn. I've gotten flak from folks, too-quite a bit in some quarters. I know what I want to do seems nuts, but they're not living my life and they're not around when I'm sick all winter or going stir crazy in the same four walls in a city I've wanted to move out of for over 20 years. Only stayed because of my kids, now they're all grown and too busy, so what the heck? Life is meant to be lived, we only get one go around and whatever makes it livable and meaningful is what needs to be pursued. And that will be different for everyone. I appreciate the encouragement, and its good to know RV'rs seem like a real community! I'd love to run into some day (not literally, LOL!) Godspeed!
