I'm here, you may all now breath a colletive sigh of relief

Hello all! Not brand new to RVing, but been out of it for a while. As the years set upon me and I prepare to enter into a fully retired mode, thought I'd join y'all and learn some lessons. Over the Easter weekend I became the proud owner of a predominately original 1987 Holiday Rambler Imperial 5th wheel. All of her systems work well, of course some of the appliances have been replaced over the years. Tires were 15 years old, towed it 3 miles to DT, all new rubber, including the spare. I'll be living in-place for a while until I finish earning my second retirement, going over every inch of the unit and preparing it for life on the road. You may all now applaud my arrival. Carry on

Keep in mind..
Your 1st coach is a learning tool..
BUY USED! & buy one with everything you "think" you want and will need..
As You will make mistakes and have booboo's We all have.....(sometimes more than twice..)
Within a year or two you will discover..about the RV

What you love about the RV...
What you can kinda-sorta tolerate with the RV..
And what you absolutely hate about that !@#$%^%$#@! RV.
Then you can go get what you should have gotten in the first place..
Happy Hunting

Remember..Every day you put off retiring..is just one less Day of being retired

saddlesore,

I agree with you, made many a boo boo with my first unit (who knew that the black wire isn't always the ground wire) (!@#$%^%$#@! RV). Just over 1400 days to retirement (but who's counting) I'm retiring just as soon as i possibly can, I'm not going to give the man 1 day more than i have too!

5M you're badass, if you don't mind, how long did that take?
