Talking Introductions all around

Hello everyone! I'm a new-ish RVer, although I grew up sailing, which has a lot in common with RVing. I had a 1996 Bigfoot class B for about 18 months and recently upgraded to a 24' 2014 Thor Freedom Elite 21C. I'm in my late 30s and usually RV solo, but I'd like to take friends and family with me more now that I have "guest quarters." I enjoy meeting up with the Virginia LOWs. Now that I have a slightly larger rig, I am planning on taking my two cats with me on longer trips. I am a teacher so I take a lot of weekend trips in the Virginia area during the school year with longer trips during the summers. Next summer I plan to explore from Virginia to Maine. I have dreams of full timing and working from the road in the next couple of years. I enjoy kayaking so I am often pulling my kayak trailer. This winter I hope to get set up to tow my HHR, which I can put my kayak on. I've been lurking for a while, reading threads and getting lots of information. I look forward to joining the community as a participant as well.

Patty-

Welcome to iRV2!

My wife and I are between rigs now. We sold our former coach, a Lazy Daze 27 Class C, last June. It seemed to us that the Lazy Daze community had quite a number of solo travelers. One of the, ahem, "more mature" solo members is Andy Baird. He maintains a Web site that any Class C owner would probably find useful. The URL is:

Welcome to Eureka!

Andy also travels with a cat (as we did).

I hope this is helpful, and we wish you the best in your "land yacht" adventure.

Mark

P.S.- If you get to Wells, Maine, be sure to stop at the Scoop Deck for ice cream. The "Dinosaur Crunch"is my favorite.

I've read the Eureka blog several times and found it invaluable as I have been thinking of mods I want in my rig
