We're new members as of today. We bought a 2004 Coachmen Mirada 31ft class A a couple months ago. It's our first RV, with only 28k miles on it, it's in great shape. I retired from the yachting industry as an electrical engineering tech, so fortunately am fairly well versed in the construction of "land yachts". My background has already helped in sorting out some small issues on the rv.

Welcome aboard.
Since yours is a 2004 coach (same as mine, different make), I would encourage you to do what I was told.
Camp out in your driveway, hooked up AND not hooked up for 3-4 nights, and use ALL the systems on board. Kind of a "road check" without leaving home.
Change all the fluids and filters, and grease all the joints, so you have a starting point.
Hit the road when YOU feel comfortable..........

Thanks
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. Yes we plan on spending some time in the RV before our first extended trip to make sure all systems are functioning. So far I have repaired the cruise control which was inop by replacing the control module. Got a replacement from a Ford Explorer at the local pick and pull salvage yard, along with a set of steering wheel control switches from a Ford F150 as they also needed replacing. Next I went to improving the suspension as the 120 mile trip home after purchase was somewhat unnerving. I added Firestone air bags on the rear with a remote dual compressor setup to inflate and deflate each bag separately. I then noticed the rear sway bar bushings were gone, so installed new ones. We purchased 6 new tires as the ones on it were all 5 years or older. I fabricated a rear track bar system and installed that. Upon attempting to fill the water tank I encountered a severe leak in the area of the fill and transfer valve panel. That turned out to be an improper Pex fitting on the inside connection to the water fill bib. Looks like it came from factory that way so the water system was probably never used? Strange.
