Joining in the fun...

Hi Everyone, I'm Carol. After much preparation in getting a new (used) RV after my 2012 Springdale Travel Trailer was destroyed by a falling tree, I'm ready to hit the road. In Oct. 2019, I purchased a 2006 Itasca Cambria. I have spend the winter remodeling and upgrading the decor and functionality. All systems are in great condition except I need help with wiring a 200w solar system. I don't have any clue the best wiring configuration for my rig. I know to mount the controller near the battery bank (I have 2 sealed 12v batteries) which sits behind the driver's seat. The converter/fuse panel is on the opposite side of the RV near the door. I also have a 1100w inverter to install too. I need advice on how to run wiring throughout the RV. Thanks and look forward to reading your threads. Happy travels.

Adding a portable suitcase solar panel

Hey Carol welcome aboard.

Ok nice class C. IMO adding solar for your needs should be really easy to do with a 200 watt portable suitcase solar panel. I actually covered this in a video we did about 8 months ago.

In Part 2 of this 3 part series I covered:
• What we did to the battery bay, portable solar, propane, generator, under the chassis and a couple of other things

If you're interested, go here and see how this solar set up works. It's super easy and will provide what you'll need.

Good luck to ya.
