Question Just another NOOB

We've both Finally retired ( ) and got our first ever RV....
A used 34' Coachmen Class A, gas driven, beast of a Motorhome w/single slide. After making several upgrades, including steering stabilization we are planning (not) our first trip. It's a kind of shake down cruise so it'll be short. A couple-o-weeks within 1000 miles and all south of home (Charlotte, NC). We have no plans, no reservations and no clue as to where we're going. The only definite thing is heading south towards the Gulf Coast and see what it all brings. We'll seek campsites as we go or boondock if we need to.
Any tips on a trip of this sort are welcome.

Thanks... and wish us luck!
Gary

Welcome aboard. The beauties of a motorhome-"We have no plans, no reservations and no clue as to where we're going". You can be home whereever you stop. Just find a save area and kick back. Enjoy your journey. Brian

Good luck with your adventures... We bought our first ever RV in 2013 ,had never camped before, and my wife talked me into a 1996 georgie boy (with one slide) and we LOVE it we are based in Nova Scotia Canada and our first trip was on done with No reservation and no destination except south and west in the USA we ended up in west Oklahoma at the texas panhandle and were chased east by tornado warnings.Ended up in south Carolina on the beach at Edisto island.. Got home after 50 days on the road stayed in 14 states and put on 8000 miles ,,, not bad for a first trip.. We are waitinf for April to leave again ..our next trip is to SC then to Winnepeg Manitoba then to Alberta Canada then back to nova scotia About another 8000 miles and 60 -90 days.. We are both well retired and we love the travel and the state and provincial parks.
