Hope I am starting in the right place. After owning a saltwater yacht for many years my wife and I have decided to dip our toes into the RV “land yacht “ arena. I am active on many boating forums & act as a Moderator at times. We keep our yacht docked at Kiawah Island,SC or Savannah, Ga, we lived in Savannah for over 25 years & have retired to the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC.

Our first step into the RV experience is that we are delivering a new RV from Elkhart to Denver in mid-March. The factory allows 3,000 miles & 18 days to make the delivery. We are looking for suggestions on best routes, sites in between, first-timer tips & anything you can provide to help us. We have 40 years of experience backpack camping, car camping & yacht camping. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Good idea on the delivery “job”.

A friend of mine doesn’t want to take his rig to Alaska. He’s afraid it will get tore up. So every other year or so, he goes up to Elkhart, picks up a new class C, and drives it up to Alaska for delivery to a rental company. Good way to gain experience.

Welcome. Lots of good folks here. A "Delivery" job sounds like a great adventure and a good way to introduce yourself to the world of "land yachts" Good luck and enjoy the adventure
