Just starting
Hey everyone,
I am currently in the Army and have roughly 3+ years left till I retire. My wife and I have decided that since all of our kids are grown we should just sell everything off, get an RV and go. While this is what we eventually want to accomplish, right now we are still in the research phase. I have been checking out this and other forum sites for the past couple of weeks and have already gained a little bit of knowledge and I look forward to picking everybodies brain to gain more.

Thank you for your service to our country. My wife and I are retired Navy. We are brand new to the RV world as well. We were at the RV show in Hershey this past weekend and we learned tons. Of all the motor homes we looked at and manufacturer reps I spoke to, I found Thor motor homes to be what we were looking for. They were a great value, excellent build and support from the manufacturers. The Thor Palazzo 33.2 is what we chose. This is our first RV and we wanted to skip doing upgrades as much as possible and the Palazzo fit the bill for us. If you have questions feel free to send me a message.

well, since the wife and I will want to take our scooters, we are looking into getting a toy hauler. I am kind of partial to the Class A types and have narrowed it down to either a Thor outlaw or Newmar Canyon Star. I plan on seeing if there is anyplace close to us that offers those in a rental, but that will have to wait till next year since I am currently deployed.

Your service will gain you access to some of the best camping in the US.
We are sitting in Oak Harbor overlooking the water for $25 a night.
We have been traveling since 12/11 and have stayed 60% of the trip in military campgrounds.
Good luck.
